Job Description
Skyfire is looking for a rock star Senior Web Front End developer to join immediately! This is a fantastic opportunity to own and lead the development of a highly robust, scalable and high performance web infrastructure for our customers.
Job Responsibilities
You will work closely with the marketing and application teams to architect and develop the web presence as per the company's business objectives. Your responsibilities will include the following:
- Designing and implementing the core functionality of the company web site including the website logic and business logic features.
- Designing and implementing a user centric portal for Skyfire customers
- Creating a mobile savvy user experience with particular attention to robustness, usability and performance under bandwidth challenged conditions
- Selection and integration of open source components and libraries, third party tool selection for rapid application development
- Utilize and evangelize best of breed programming techniques including design patterns, templates, frameworks and re-usable and modular development
Required Skills
- Expertise in building and maintaining efficient web pages.
- Demonstrable end-user interface development skills and understanding of user centric interface design principles
- Ability to quickly master new web technologies and push the envelope for performance and reliability
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
- In-depth debugging skills; ability to reach out and use team strengths to solve problems
- Ability to work independently and in small collaborative teams
Required Experience
- At least 3-5 years experience of extensive cross browser development using HTML, XHTML, hand coded CSS and object oriented JavaScript.
- 1-3 years experience in PHP, preferably using the Zend framework. Experience with HTML templating systems such as Cheetah, Django, Smarty or CakePHP.
- Must be comfortable with DOM manipulation
- Exposure to advanced development techniques including SOA, AJAX, dynamic data driven pages, XML and SOAP interfaces
- Familiarity and experience with Javascript frameworks such as jQuery, MochiKit, YUI and Dojo.
- Experience with design and prototyping in PhotoShop and Flash.
Education
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant discipline and experience.
